* This course includes the NRA FIRST STEPS class and participants will receive the NRA manual for Basic Pistol shooting and a NRA FIRST STEPS program certificate.

 

NRA's FIRST STEPS Program
FIRST (Firearm Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training) STEPS is the latest addition to the NRA's training programs for new shooters. It provides hands-on orientation to one specific pistol in as little as three hours, including a one-hour shooting session on a range.

 

 

 


 

 

 

NRA FIRST Steps Pistol

 

Is a National Rifle Association's program.

Offered to new shooters who own, plan to own or

are just plain interested about handguns.

This is a 3 hour course with hands-on training to

safe and proper handling. Includes live shooting at the range.

 

Course Length: 4 hours

Cost: $50

Maximum Students: 16

Prerequisites: None

 

 

 

 

NRA Basic Pistol Class

 

The NRA Basic Pistol course emphasizes the attitude, knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle a pistol/revolver. The course emphasizes safety and the basic fundamentals of shooting including grip, aiming, sight picture control, trigger squeeze and follow through. Students will learn how to identify different types of handguns and how each type functions. A supervised and coached live fire exercise ensures students properly grasp all learning objectives.  Students will see a significant improvement between the first and last shot. The NRA Basic Pistol  manual is provided and a certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the live-fire section and a written examination.

Cost: $100

  • shooting fundamentals and an opportunity to develop them on the range
  • how to select, clean and store a firearm
  • review of various activities available to help participants develop and improve their shooting skills
