NRA's FIRST STEPS Program
FIRST (Firearm Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training) STEPS is the latest addition to the NRA's training programs for new shooters. It provides hands-on orientation to one specific rifle in as little as three hours, including a one-hour shooting session on a range.

NRA FIRST steps Rifle Class

Is a National Rifle Association's program. Learn safe gun handling,

the fundamentals of rifle shooting, safe storage and cleaning.

This is a 3+ hour course with hands-on training and live shooting.

Course Length: 4 hours

Cost: $50

NRA Basic Rifle Class *

The NRA Basic Rifle course emphasizes the attitude, knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle a Rifle. The course emphasizes safety and the basic fundamentals of shooting including grip, aiming, sight picture control, trigger squeeze and follow through. Students will learn how to identify different types of rifles and how each type functions. A supervised and coached live fire exercise ensures students properly grasp all learning objectives. Students will see a significant improvement between the first and last shot. The NRA Basic Rifle manual is provided and a certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the live-fire section and a written examination.
