If you're considering the shotgun for either self/home defense or competitive shooting this is the course for you! This course provides the student with a realistic perspective on the shotgun as a weapon.

Lecture topics include: The myths and realities of the tactical shotgun; selection of weapons, ammunition and support equipment; judgmental shooting; tactic, reloading, malfunctions, multiple threats, shooting on the move, unusual firing positions, close quarter drills, point shooting, failure to stop drills& target discrimination

Prerequisites: None

Necessary Equipment: Notebook, pen and pencil, serviceable semiautomatic or pump shotgun, 200 round of bird shot, 150 rounds of OO buck and 20 slug rounds (factory) shooting glasses, ear protection, appropriate clothing for inclement weather (hot, cold, rain or snow), minimum 2qt water container, sack lunch

Recommended Equipment: sunscreen, hydration system, hat, knee and elbow pads, hiking or tactical boots, pants with cargo pockets, tinted glasses, multi tool, range bag, thumb drive for class photos.
